History

CIB was founded in Chicago in January 2011 by a group of business schools academics, training and development experts and entrepreneurs.

Mission

Chicago Institute of Business’s mission is "to provide affordable superior practical business education that improves employability, workplace productivity, organizational profitability and overall national competitiveness anywhere and everywhere in the world"

Our Programs

CIB is a U.S. Institution based in Chicago and recognized by the State of Illinois, USA to offer executive business education and professional development programs. CIB provides affordable, customized short courses that are relevant to developing key business, leadership and management competencies within organizations. We are particularly focused on building competent business leaders and managers in emerging market economies.

The curricula of our industry relevant courses have been produced by some of world’s leading experts. All our present courses have been standardized through the rigorous quality assurance process that is overseen by our Academic Board.

CIB has partnerships with top U.S. business schools such as Indiana University Kelley School of Business. CIB also has a 5-​year partnership with the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), Kenya to improve employability and workplace productivity for Kenyans as well as for all its 15,000 students, 5,000 alumni and 1,200 staff and faculty.

Our courses continue to be used to train employees of leading organizations in North America, Asia, Sub-​Saharan Africa and the MENA region. Our courses have attracted multinational companies such as General Motors and Philips, and government institutions such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

Management

Nehad El Gamal
Co-​Founder and CEO

Nehad is a Senior Consultant at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He has extensive experience in international development, including work on higher education reform projects funded by USAID, EC, EU and the United Nations in Iraq and Afghanistan. In his four year working in Afghanistan, he managed multimillion-​­dollar projects for the capacity building of Afghan institutions including Kabul University and several ministries. While working at DePaul University in Chicago, he managed the multimillion-​­dollar Iraqi Higher Education Reform Project funded by USAID, which provided guidance and support for curricular, clinical and structural development of Iraqi universities. Nehad received his LL.B. from Cairo University and his LL.M. from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.

Major General (Ret.) Charles E. Tucker, JR., J.D.
Executive Vice President for International Affairs and Partnership Development

Major General (Ret.) Charles E. Tucker, Jr., J.D. is the Chicago Institute of Business’ Executive Vice President for International Affairs and Partnership Development. He is responsible for leading and directing the institute’s international program development efforts, establishing partnerships with U.S. and international universities and organizations, developing and implementing a communication strategy for effectively marketing the institute’s international portfolio.

General Tucker is also the Co-​Founder and Executive Director of the World Engagement Institute (WEInstitute) Chicago, Illinois. General Tucker previously served as the Executive Director of the International Human Rights Law Institute (IHRLI) at DePaul University’s College of Law, Chicago, Illinois and as an international rule of law and humanitarian law practitioner, mostly with the U.S. Government. General Tucker’s mission is to develop and promote the fundamental rights of peoples around the world through education, research, documentation, capacity-​building and advocacy.

He was routinely seconded to the U.S. State Department and various International Organizations. He served multiple tours of duty with the United Nations in various countries and served as Economic and Legal Adviser for the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also served as an International Law Adviser in the Office of the US Secretary of Defense. Additionally, he served as Legal Adviser for the U.S. Ambassador in Iraq, as well as for State Department and DOD missions in Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Central and South America. In his civilian capacity, he served as a Senior Field Attorney for the National Labor Relations Board, where he oversaw the NLRB General Counsel’s adjudication of complex labor rights cases.

General Tucker is an accomplished lecturer and has authored numerous articles and manuals on international legal matters. He has served as an Assistant Professor of Law at the U.S. Air Force Academy, as well as Course Director of the Academy’s Comparative International Law Program. He is the founding Co-​Editor of the USAFA Journal of Legal Studies. And he served as Adjunct Professor of Management for Bradley University and as an Adjunct faculty member for Wayland College. He is a 1979 graduate of the University of Notre Dame (BA, Government), a 1982 graduate of the DePaul University College of Law (JD) and a 2003 graduate of the US Air War College.

Prior to his retirement from the military in April 2009, Major General Tucker served on the joint staff of the National Guard Bureau. As the Director of Joint Doctrine, Training and Force Development, he was responsible for developing training and exercise policies and programs to ensure joint units of the National Guard were ready to respond to their homeland defense and homeland security missions. In addition, he formulated National Guard Joint Professional Military Education policy, coordinated periodic review of all Joint Professional Military Education curricula, and provided Joint Staff oversight to National Guard Homeland Defense and Joint Inter​agency Training Centers.

Ms Dina Kamal, MBA

Dina Kamal is an established Egyptian Canadian executive. Dina has extensive international experience in consulting,training, and business development. Dina’s strong industry knowledge is acquired by working for more than 12 years with clients at the public sector as well as financial services, energy, healthcare and real estate sectors.She has provided trainings and consulting services for hundreds of clients in North America and the Middle East.Dina’s clients include Etisalat, Cisco, GulfAir, Bank of Canada, Qatar National Bank, Canadian Department of ForeignAffairs, Kuwait State Audit Bureau, Kuwait Commercial Real Estate company, Bahrain Ministry of Interior, and ADNOC to name a few. Dina has also worked as a research assistant at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Dina is currently a senior manager at Deloitte and Touche in Toronto, Canada.Dina has dual Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University, Canada and Cornell University, USA (with honors). Dina is English — Arabic bilingual.

Mr Mohammed Okda, MBA

Mohamed has over 20 years of global business leadership, entrepreneurship and consulting experience in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He started and led multiple growth organization that generated millions of dollars. He has consulted his clients in the fields of strategy, branding, finance and turnaround management. His clients include Fortune 500, NGOs and public sector organizations. He taught at Lewis University in Illinois, U.S.A., He is a member of Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. He holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the University Of Chicago Booth Graduate School Of Business and an LL.B. He is fluent in four languages.

Jennifer Gerrard
Director, Executive MBA Global Network, Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management

Jennifer’s expertise lies in her experience working in international education in multiple settings. Through her work at DePaul University and the University of California, Santa Cruz, she has implemented international education projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the U.S. Department of State. These projects included work with Fulbright scholars and Hurbert H. Humphrey Fellows, as well as with groups of students from Iraq, Libya, Indonesia, South Korea, and Japan. Additionally, from 2009​­‐2010, Jennifer served as the Senior Educational Advisor for Egyptian students at AMIDEAST in Cairo, Egypt, funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Education USA program. Jennifer is the Director of the Executive MBA Global Network at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. In this role, she oversees Kellogg’s five international EMBA partnerships: the Kellogg​­‐Recanati Program (Tel Aviv, Israel), the Kellogg​­‐WHU Program (Vallendar, Germany), the Kellogg​­‐HKUST Program (Hong Kong, SAR, China), the Kellogg​­‐Schulich Program (Toronto, Canada), and the Kellogg​­‐Guanghua Program (Beijing, China). Robert Schrijver
Principal at Community Power & Utility, an electricity generation reseller in Connecticut, USA.

Robert’s core expertise is marketing, branding, positioning and customer relationship management (CRM). He has served in various executive roles in global advertising and branding agencies (CEO – The Food Group; vice-​Chairman – Siegel & Gale; executive vice president: D’Aarcy, J. Walter Thompson) and he has held senior marketing positions at PepsiCo International and Bristol Myers. Robert holds a BA with Honors from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business; Robert is fluent in French.
